Fuzz: More Random Thoughts

Marking the instrument on P&ID and making Inspection Test plans on the excel sheets. He sat there wondering if this is it.
“Concentrate” his boss had told him the other day “do not expect anything technical, this is what you have to do now”.
He got Goosebumps.  He looked around… A room filled with A4 sheets, Xerox copies, big files, markers, computers with open excel sheets and PDFs, a cup of tea every two hours and occasional trips to the water cooler.
No, this can’t be it. This should not be it. At least that was not the plan.

Desperate days and nights blurred together. He couldn’t tell Mondays from Fridays. Time was flying away. There was nothing but void. If he considered past few weeks, there wasn’t anything fairly significant that had happened. He was talking to himself, he was talking more about himself. He wrote down his thoughts which were indeed no thoughts of his own. Copied and pasted thoughts. He liked the word ‘inspired’ but he knew the word was plagiarized, whom was he kidding? He aired those thoughts into oblivion, into an internetworking world where no one gave a damn about him or those thoughts.

He thought about the good old days. He yearned to be with his mates. He missed hanging out with them. But then, seasons change Eh? He wondered about that particular specimen of opposite sex who had given him sleepless nights once upon a time. Duh! He knew she wasn’t oblivious to his existence, she just plainly refused to acknowledge it.

He wanted to run away… But he was settled now. He had a routine now. He can’t run away. He would have to answer those people who think that now since he has got a job he must be too happy. What else one needs to have? They asked. What else does he need to have? He asked himself. He couldn’t come up with an answer.

He had become grumpier; one could tell that from his face. He saw similar looks on the people, his same age, on the bus he took every day to work. He has become one among them. He has become one among the many. He hoped to get out of this indefinite loop he was stuck in, one day. And one fine day… He would.
